Celebrating Love and the Beauty of Your Own Story

Young love… fresh and uncomplicated and makes you want to cheer wildly from the sidelines.

Financial planning isn’t just about retirement accounts and spreadsheets, it’s about connecting money to your dreams.

In July, I attended my 22-year-old nephew’s wedding—and it was every bit as sweet as you’d imagine. Watching two young people stand before their families, pledging to love and support each other for life, was both heartwarming and inspiring.

My brother officiated (I felt my eyes well-up as his voice cracked while speaking about his son's bride), the ceremony and reception were at the same venue, and the whole weekend felt like a joyful reunion. The rehearsal dinner at Prairie Dunes Golf Club was a highlight—delicious BBQ, funny songs written about the couple, and laughter that felt like it was stitching two extended families together.

The youthful bridal party kept things lighthearted with their hilarious reception entrances. I spent precious time with my parents, caught up with my step-siblings, and soaked in those rare moments when so much of the family is together in one place.

And if I’m honest? There were fleeting moments where I wondered, “Will I ever experience this?” Weddings can stir up those thoughts when you’re single—especially if you’ve always hoped to share your life with someone.

But here’s what I’ve learned: those thoughts don’t have to dim the joy. I was overwhelmingly happy to celebrate my nephew and his new wife, to cheer them on, and to reflect on how beautiful it is when two people start their journey together.

For single women like me, weddings can also be a reminder: your story is still unfolding, and it’s uniquely yours. Whether you’re single by choice, circumstance, or a mix of both, you get to shape your life around your dreams—travel, career, family (biological or chosen), and yes, financial independence that supports it all.

That’s exactly why I started Clear Springs Wealth: to help single women craft financial plans that fit their lives, not someone else’s script. Because when you feel secure and prepared, those little “what if” thoughts lose their power—and joy takes center stage.

Your future doesn’t have to follow anyone else’s timeline. You just need a plan that helps you feel ready for the version of life you want to live.

If you’ve been meaning to get your financial house in order—or simply want to feel confident about where you’re headed—I’d love to help.

Here’s to love, laughter, and living a life that feels fully your own.
